Dutch artist Suzan Drummen creates sparkling floor installations using an array of individually placed mirrors, crystals, chromed metal, optical glass and precious stones. The fractal-like patterns in each installation form a sort of temporary 3D carpet that alters the space in which its installed by reflecting light in all directions. (via Lustik)

I have always been a huge fan of New Balance sneakers. I literally want them in every color. I don't even know why I haven't bought any yet, but that will change this fall. I've been researching online and feel in love with the New Balance 420 in red, black, and grey. I can't wait to start my collection.
I love how you can style them with so many outfits.
.... so yeah, at Free Press Music Fest and this happened.
We were at the "Welcome to Houston" show singing and dancing to our favorite Houston rap songs, then Lundy asked his cousin to take a photo of us. While his cousin was taking photos Lundy turns to me and says. "Remember a few years ago you said you would want to be proposed to at a music festival? Well.... (he gets on one knee) Jasmine, Will You Marry Me?!" I was saying "omg, no no no" the whole time is was talking because I was in shock that this was actually happening. Lol. When he said "will you marry me" I screamed YES!!! and grabbed the ring out the box. Lol. People cheered, we hugged, and I could not stop smiling for the rest of the day. I kept thinking "Is this real life?" It was the best day any girl could ask for.
Oh lord, I'm getting married. I'm actually going to be somebody's wife. Lol
I didn't want a ring AT ALL, but Lundy wanted to get me something. I told him get me something simple and dainty. He got the perfect ring for me. I love it!
It really was a perfect day. Amazing music, good food, and the wedding proposal I didn't see coming. I'm so excited for this next chapter in my life. I love you Lundy!
We'll go into more detail once we get our wedding website up and running.
Lundy surprised me with tickets to Free Press Summer Fest. I was so surprised because we were in the middle of moving so I didn't think we were going this year. We love going to FPSF every year, and it's a great way to see all our favorite Houston artists across all genres at once. We were a bit worried though for a while, since the flood happened in May, we thought that they were going to cancel the concert, which would have sucked for us because Lundy only had that weekend off. But the people in charge of the festival were able to find a great alternative. The fest was moved to NRG Park, and it was actually a nice change of scenery. But in typically Texas fashion it was HOT A HELL outside!! I spend all my money on watermelon snow cones. Lol.
Anyways, my favorite act was Lecrae, who is a rapper from Houston. Look up his music, you will not regret it. Now, I was surprised by how amazing R.Kelly was live. I have to say, he is a true singer/performer! I forgot about all the hits he has. With all the controversy about him getting kicked off the line up I'm happy they kept him on. He was definitely a big fan favorite.
Thank You Lundy for the tickets. I will remember this day forever!
Here are some photos from my Instagram account. I need to remember to bring my nice camera... will do next time.
Sorry, for the lack of posts. We've been super busy the last few months.
Anyways, time for a Life Update:
We're moving to San Antonio!
Lundy got a job there a few months ago. The best part is he'll be working his dream job and straight out of school, which is rare for the field he chose (I think that's what he told me). Anyways, I'm so proud of him!!
Side Note: It's funny how God works. He really does close one door to open an even better door. Lundy wanted this fellowship really bad in Charlotte and I told him, "If you don't get it that means God has something better for you... something better than Charlotte you just have to have faith." While a few weeks later Lundy found out he didn't get into the fellowship program. He was in his room the next day looking at other fellowships to apply for and came across the job position in San Antonio, he told me about it and said "Well, I don't have the experience." I told him to apply anyways, "if you don't get it oh well move on". He gets an interview and a five days later he gets the job!!! His dream job with amazing benefits and an even more amazing salary... plus we're 3 hours from Houston!! God had something better in mind and all we had to do was true in him.
Ok, back to today - We are currently apartment hunting and I am looking for employment. I'll update you all on both as it happens. So now we are just chilling.... well mostly him I'm still in school. I'll officially be done May 29th! I can't wait. I'm going to be honest, I'm done with school after this. I'll take a training course here and there (maybe) but no longer enrolling in a university. I have other projects I want to put my energy into right now. But yeah, need to get back to my homework. Talk to you later.
This photo conveys freedom, life, happiness, peacefulness, and safety to me. Everything I want to have in life, which is why this is one of my favorite photos. I know God has already given this to me I just have to tap into it, which is something I'm trying to do daily.
My mom has a quote from the Bible on the refrigerator that says "This is the day to Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118:24
I am going to post this photo in my room with the quote underneath. I think everyone needs a reminder to enjoy life so create, print, or buy something to hang in your room that makes you smile when you wake up and go to bed.
